Rain, Rain, Go Away

Hello all. Wow, all I can say it was a terrible week it has been for southern California weather. I think we've had rain consistantly through the whole week until today. What makes it worse is that the rain wasn't just a drizzle, it was a full blown rain storm. Some days we even had lightening and thunder. Yikes! Throughout all the crappy weather, it did remind me of home a lot. All the days of being overcast, having to wear a few layers of clothing, and almost every article of clothing you own getting soaked. Ah.......*goes into sleepy dream state.*

What I have found to be very interesting throughout the entire week is the effect on people's moods when the weather changes. I mean, yeah, most LA people are assholes 9 times out of 10, but a lot of people just get depressed. I know I was not very happy this week. I felt like I really could care less about school, friends, and family. It was just.........blah. Out of all the words in the English language, that's about the best I can describe it. I felt really tired too. It's hard to imagine living in this kind of weather.

Which brings me to my main point. I don't know how in God's name I used to live in Seattle and not be clinically depressed. Even after a pretty good first date with Amanda, I still felt just terrible. I really do blame it on the weather. Obviously, I can't really tell if my mood has changed all that much since high school. I'm sure others could, but the sun is just so refreshing, waking up to blue skys and high temps just gets you up and going better than rain and puddles. I know a lot of this stuff is all pretty obvious to most people. The only real reason I'm writing about this is just how much of an effect the rain has on us as people. I think this fact shows how much we are really driven by our senses. I mean, what if we did an experiment where we could filter the color that two people could see? For instance, Person A would have a red filter over their eyes where as Person B would have blue. Would that effect their attitudes so much as to make one very hyper and angry a lot and the other sad and reclusive? It's an interesting thought..........

This is not to say the whole week was shit. In fact, what actually did happen was a lot of fun. We had a three day weekend. I finally got to go and hang out with Amanda, which went fairly well. Hopefully next time I'll get to hang with her a little more. I also started playing basketball. Here's the time where you laugh for a good five minutes, write a comment on my two handed shot, and continue on your way. Although I am the worst player out of all the guys, it's a lot of fun and a good workout too. At least it's better than the eliptical machine. I also won $27 at poker the other night. I guess, I don't wanna come off like I'm bitchy (even though I do a lot), but the week was OK, if only the damn rain would go. I didn't come to Loyola for rain. Other than that, I think that is about it. Nothing coming up this week, just a bunch of tests. Wish me luck! Hope all is well with all of you. You know, comments don't always have to be about this post, I'd like to hear stuff about you too, so don't hesitate to put some stuff in about your crappy week, or whatever. That's what they are there for. All I ask is that you keep them clean. Alright, until next time, ciao.

1. The rain does not bring me down. I kinda like it save one important drawback. Rain = no baseball. and thats bad. by the way, you're not that bad at basketball. you're harder to D up than you probably think. just work on your girl shot. later man. -Steve

ps - next time, have a more interesting blog. i mean cmon, rain? weak.
